hadn't been to a ruby tuesday in years, but needed a traditional american restaurant that would cover pasta for me (running a marathon in the morning) and non-pasta for my kids (because they're weird ;-) most of the pasta dishes on the menu were in a parmesan cream sauce, and i didn't want to do anything heavy...so asked for chicken broccoli pasta but light on the sauce. didn't expect to get it, though. grace, our server, brought me a naked dish with all the sauce on the side, which was a perfect solution that i simply hadn't considered. i generally don't expect great service from a national chain, but grace totally nailed it. my compliments to her. food was fine - kids had steak and salmon, and they both enjoyed their entrees. prob won't go again anytime soon, as i generally would rather stick to the local places, but this was great.

We had just arrived in Traverse City and were staying at the Sugar Beach resort across the street. Ruby Tuesday was convenient. My wife ordered the crab cake dinner which was good and according to her, rated 4 stars. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger which only rated 2 stars. it was overdone, but still reasonably good. The service was moderately slow, but this evening a new server was in training, which may have accounted for the speed, or not. We opted to not go to the salad bar, but instead get a second side. My wife thought the salad bar looked good, I didn't think much of it - no special reason. Overall, we were satisfied with the restaurant. We also liked the slightly lower prices here as opposed to restaurant prices in the Chicago area.

Can't believe I'm Yelping about this national chain restaurant but I'm always surprised at just how darn good their salad bar is! It's always fresh with a great selection of items. The croutons are perfect even---crunchy outside chewy inside. The rest of their food is pretty good too. I actually had some very good lobster tails here this past week. Still can't believe this old chain restaurant continues to almost wow this foodie.

I love the food and coffee at Ruby Tuesdays all over the US. I was returning from a trip March 14 and stopped for the good coffee in Traverse City and was greeted by a young woman who aked my name. I was startled and asked her why and she said it is for the table card-since I am a bit blurry before my caffiene, I gave her my last name after asking why she wanted to know. I sat down, and soon an eager young man said, "What is your first name?" Startled, I told him and then thought, "Wow, since when do you have to give your name to a young server in a restaurant in order to be served?? He was extremely friendly and attentive and I decided I'd just let it go to avoid spoiling a sunny morning, but whatever happened to deference? I am in my 60s and should be addressed politely as" Mam" while a man should be addressed as" sir". I am afraid we have long since lost our sense of what is appropriate in this country. Every time the young server bounced over to my table, he called me by my first name-as I inwardly winced!! It may not be his fault tht he does not know better and that servers should never address mature customers by a first name-a small child is a whole differrent matter, of course-but your staff needs to be retrained if they are being told to get and use customers' names. Servers can be just as friendly and helpful if they treat customers with the proper respect due them and call them by the long approved titles of Mam or sir. I think you know that students in Canadian schools always address their teachers as mam, miss, or sir and that is showing proper deference. Waiters need to treat strangers as valued customers and not close friends! To the managers-please bring this up at your management meetings as I am not the only person who does not like being called by my first name. The old rules are still valid! Keep up the good food and coffee-i will be back.

It's been almost 2 years but I'm back in the area and back at my usual spot. I, of course, ordered the grilled salmon and it was as delicious as expected. The bartender, Shannon I think her name is, is solid. She was juggling a lot with patrons and answering the phone with to-go orders all while making drinks for the tables in the restaurant. After I left my last review, I returned to the restaurant and they comped my entire order, drinks and all! I'm not sure if they deduced that I was the one leaving the review with a bit of disappointment or if they noticed that I had eaten there for almost 2 weeks straight. Either way kudos to them for noticing and actually caring about their customers.

It was ok, but nothing special. Same Sysco truck box crap as other places. Very pricy for very small portions.

Meh. As others have said, its a chain. Microwaved mediocrity. I just can't justify returning when there are so many fantastic local options.

Very outdated looking restaurant, dimly lit also. Decent service but I got the jalapeño pretzel burger which was unfortunately pretty flavorless. Husband got the steak and salad bar and was pleased. Make sure to ask for biscuits!

Just ate here and our waiter Jordan was super. He could teach the female workers a thing or two about working. While they are standing around talking to each other this young man is taking care of customers. Our meal was good and salad bar is really fresh. Stars are for Jordan!

It is what it is, chain food, with chain store service. I probably would have been more pleasant if our server and the bartender weren't making fun of my wife. The food was over cooked, probably cuz the cook kept running out of the kitchen to watch the game in between orders. I should know better than to go to a corporate restaurant.

We were there on Wednesday evening (5 of us). The salad bar was good as always, however the soups served were lukewarm at best. One in our party ordered the sliders. Never got her soup and the burgers were like lumps of coal! No reason for such a small burger to be so over-cooked. Very disappointing. They did take that meal off the bill, which was the least they could do, but overall not a great experience! Stick with the constant......salad bar!

I love this chain restaurant, mainly due to the salad bar. It has such fresh choices, which include the traditional greens, but also has the less typical spring greens. There's lots of toppings, including ham, eggs, shredded parmesan cheese as well as cheddar, cukes, zucchini, and much more. Personally, I head for the potato salad, macaroni & ham salad, and waldorf...this one had the freshest apples & grapes. The salads didn't leave me a lot of room for my bella chicken, but it was really good, nice & juicy. The only minor inconvenience was that they were out of rice for hubby's gumbo, so it came on pasta, but he said it was still very tasty, and there was a huge plate of it.

My family and I ate here about a month ago. The prices are expensive for the serving sizes. I had the crab cakes and it was served with rice pilaf. Both were too salty and not very filling. If I wanted an additional side there was an up charge. The staff was cold and not accommodating. Our waiter rarely checked on us. We asked for a refill on our pop and it was forgotten. I don't think I will be eating here again when I can go somewhere else and get better service, better prices, and bigger portions.

Had dessert here this evening, it was okay but not fab. Other folks had dinners & salad bar, everyone seemed to like their food. Waitress & gm were kind & polite, always a plus. 2011 visit: Salad bar still yummy, would love to see either cottage cheese, tapioca/ some kind of pudding, and raisins. Soups, well unless you have a high salt tolerance do not order (though this is subject to a matter of taste, I'm sure). Service was not speedy, but it was a busy Sunday evening.
